Keep Track Together: Sharing One Food List with Your Household

A shared grocery list app for the household means one pantry, fridge and freezer inventory that everyone can see and update-so nobody is the only person who “knows what is at home.”
Why one list beats three memories
When each person keeps a private note or guesses from memory, the cart fills with duplicates and the fridge still hides leftovers. Households we hear from often pick NoWaste so the whole family can keep track together on the same lists.
What “shared” looks like in practice
- One location (for example Home) with fridge, freezer and pantry lists.
- Members invited by email or invite code so they join on their own phone.
- Changes sync on iPhone, Android and the web.
- Shopping lists and recipes belong to the same location as the inventory.
How to invite in NoWaste
From the Locations tab or location details, open invite members. Share an invite with someone new to NoWaste, or send an invite to an email that already has an account. Remove members when they no longer share that kitchen.
Free includes one location with household invites and no ads. NoWaste Pro allows up to 20 locations and lets you share Pro with household members. Expiry reminders are Pro only.
Habits that make sharing stick
- Agree that the list is the source of truth before shopping.
- Add or scan items when groceries come home.
- Mark items used or gone so the next person is not guessing.
