Share Your Airbnb Kitchen Stock with Guests: Invite Them to See What’s Already There

You can invite guests to your rental’s location in NoWaste so they can see which kitchen basics are already there—coffee, oil, spices, cleaning supplies—before they shop. Guests buy less of what you already stock, and less food is left behind or thrown away.

Why guests want to know what is in the kitchen

Guests who plan to cook often stop at a supermarket on the way to check-in. Without knowing what the rental has, they buy salt, oil and coffee “just in case”, use a little, and leave the rest. The next guests do the same.

A listing description can say “basic pantry items provided”, but it cannot say how much olive oil is left today. A live inventory can.

How to share your kitchen stock

  1. Set up the rental as a location in NoWaste with pantry, fridge and freezer lists. A list such as “Guest basics” keeps it simple.
  2. Before arrival, send the guest an invite. From the Locations tab, tap Invite members, choose the location, and share the invite text. It includes app download links and an invite code.
  3. The guest installs NoWaste on iPhone or Android (or uses the web app), and enters the code when signing up or with Join with the invite code.
  4. After checkout, remove the guest from the location in the location details.

What to consider before inviting guests

  • Guests become members. Members can see and edit that location’s inventories, shopping lists, recipe books and meal plans. Only invite guests to a location set up for guest use, and keep owner or business stock in a separate location.
  • Guests need the app. They need a NoWaste account. Many guests will be happy to check the kitchen from their phone; others will prefer a printed list.
  • Remove access after the stay. Make it part of your checkout routine.
  • Keep the list current. Sharing only helps if the list is accurate. Ask your cleaner to update it during each turnover.

A bonus: guests can add their leftovers

If guests leave unopened food for the next visitors, they can add it to the list before they leave. Your cleaner then knows what to check, and the next guests know it is there.

Plans and limits

Free includes one location with member invites and no ads. NoWaste Pro allows up to 20 locations, so you can keep a separate guest-facing location for each rental, plus unlimited items and expiry reminders. Pro is $29.99 once or $6.99 per year.
