Reduce Food Waste with Expiry Tracking
Expiry tracking reduces food waste by showing what to eat first. In NoWaste, every plan can store expiry dates; expiry reminders before food goes off are a NoWaste Pro feature only.
Why expiry dates cut waste
Most household waste happens when food is forgotten at the back of the fridge or pantry. Logging an expiry date turns “maybe later” into a clear queue: cook it, freeze it, or shop around it.
What Free includes
On Free you can add expiry dates when you write or scan items, sort and filter by date, and use the expiry calendar view. That alone helps households plan meals around what needs using first.
Free does not include push expiry reminders. Reminders are Pro only.
What Pro adds: reminders
NoWaste Pro adds expiry reminders so you get notified before items go off. You can enable reminders in profile settings, pick how many days before expiry, and set a time. Per-item reminder options are also available when editing food on Pro.
Pro is $29.99 once or $6.99 per year, with household Pro sharing and up to 20 locations.
A simple expiry habit
- Add or scan groceries into fridge, freezer or pantry lists.
- Set an expiry date (or scan it on Pro after barcode).
- Sort inventory by expiry before you plan the week.
- On Pro, turn on reminders so soon-to-expire items surface automatically.
- Mark items consumed or expired to keep waste stats honest.
Pair expiry with household inventory
Reminders only help if the list is shared. Invite household members so everyone sees the same dates. Setup steps are in how to track fridge, freezer and pantry, and product limits are on the NoWaste page.
